Finish aerated concrete wall with paint
Aerated concrete blocks, also called Ytong Blocks, with dimensions of 600x400x100 mm are ideal for building partition walls, for example in bedrooms. We recommend using the appropriate aerated concrete glue for gluing the aerated concrete blocks. The blocks of this size have a smooth structure, making them immediately ready for the finishing layer. Many people choose to apply wall paint to the wall and use Texing. Before you can apply the wall paint, it is wise to prepare the aerated concrete wall for it. This can be done with Fix and Finish from Knauf, a thin plaster. This allows any imperfections such as seams and holes to be removed easily and quickly. Before you start painting the wall, it is important to treat it with primer for good adhesion of the wall paint.
Wallpapering an aerated concrete wall
The blocks of 10 cm thickness are often used for interior walls, for example in the living room. A popular finishing material is wallpaper, such as non-woven wallpaper, vinyl wallpaper, renovlies, photo wallpaper or paper wallpaper. If you want to wallpaper an aerated concrete wall, you must first prepare your wall. Because the aerated concrete blocks in this size do not have a coarse structure, your wall is ready for wallpaper almost immediately. Before you start, you can fill any seams or holes with a thin plaster from Knauf, for example. To prevent an unnecessary amount of wallpaper glue from being absorbed by the wall, you can treat the aerated concrete wall with Primer. After this, your aerated concrete wall is ready for the wallpaper layer.
Sustainable and Environmentally Friendly
Aerated concrete, also known as aerated concrete, owes its name to the air bubbles that arise during the production process. This allows insulation with stagnant air, resulting in an ideal microclimate in every room. Building with aerated concrete is a sustainable and environmentally friendly way of building. The building material is made of natural materials, namely sand, lime and cement. Aerated concrete is 100% recyclable; the waste that remains can re-enter the production process.
